SALVATION QUESTION 221

QUESTION 221: You write much about being saved, but I don’t think it is that urgent.

ANSWER: Though this is not a question it deserves an answer.  Prove 29:1 comes to mind,

He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy. When God speaks to you about your sins and you do nothing about it you might suddenly die and there is no remedy for sin after death. Today, (this life time) is the day of salvation (2 Cor. 6:2) It seems to me that the most important thing in life is to get things right with God.  All who die in their sins will meet Him in judgment. Heb 9:27,  And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:  There are two reasons why being saved is the most important thing in life.

(1) Death is imminent. It can happen at any moment. David said, “There is a step between me and death (1 Sam. 20:3)   Just one breath and you are gone.  Death is no respecter of persons. It visits many in  early life.  James writes, “For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”  Think of the remorse in the afterlife knowing that you put it off too long.

(2) The Rapture is imminent.  It too can happen in a twinkling of the eye 1 Cor 15:51,52  Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,  In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.  This happen to all believers in Christ when He comes. 1 Thes 4:16, 17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Are you ready for His coming?  You are if you have repented of your sins and trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour and Lord.. If not, you are only one heart beat from hell. Hence the importance. If I can help email me.
